This Privacy Policy describes how ServiceSnap ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Service at servicesnap.ai.

1. Information We Collect

From Merchants (business owners):

Account information: name, email address, password (hashed)
Business information: business name, address, service type, logo
Menu content: item names, descriptions, prices, photos, categories
Payment information: processed by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers
Usage data: feature usage, login times, plan history

From Customers (people ordering food):

Order information: name, phone number, items ordered
Payment information: processed by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers
Optional feedback: ratings and comments

Automatically collected:

IP address, browser type, device information
Pages visited, time on site, referral source
Cookies and similar tracking technologies (Google Analytics)

2. How We Use Your Information

3. AI Data Processing

When you use AI features, your photos and text are sent to third-party AI providers (currently Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude via OpenRouter) for processing. These providers:

Process your data only to fulfill the request
Do not use your data to train their models (per their API terms)
May temporarily store data for processing purposes

AI-generated content is stored in your account. You can delete it at any time.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

Stripe: Payment processing
Firebase/Google Cloud: Hosting and database infrastructure
AI Providers: Photo enhancement and text generation (via OpenRouter)
Google Analytics: Website analytics
Resend: Email delivery
Law enforcement: When required by law or to protect rights and safety

5. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) servers in the United States
All data is encrypted in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest (Google default encryption)
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
We use Firebase Authentication for secure account management
Credit card data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers

6. Data Retention

Active accounts: Data retained as long as your account is active
Deleted accounts: Data deleted within 30 days of account deletion
Order history: Retained for 2 years for merchant records and dispute resolution
Inbound emails: Retained for 1 year
Analytics data: Aggregated data may be retained indefinitely

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data — view and export your services, orders, and account info
Correct inaccurate information via your dashboard settings
Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
Opt out of marketing emails (service emails cannot be opted out while account is active)

8. Cookies

We use:

Essential cookies: Authentication, session management (required)
Analytics cookies: Google Analytics to understand site usage (can be blocked by browser)

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
